FHE Lesson – Go the Second Mile

Sometimes children and parents are apart for a time and can’t see each other. (Give an example: “Remember when Mommy went to the hospital to have the baby? or when Daddy was away on business.”)

How can we talk to them, during these times, so that we can feel near to them and feel of their love? (Call them on the phone, email, write letters, etc.)

Even though we can’t see our Heavenly Father, He is near and He wants us to talk to Him and feel His love for us.

How can we talk to Heavenly Father? (Through prayer.)

FHE Lesson – Preparing Our Family for Eternal Life

Being part of a family is a great blessing. Some families have a father, mother, brothers, and sisters. Others have a single parent with children, while other families consist of just one or two persons.

When Howard W. Hunter was a boy, his father was not a member of the church, but his home was filled with correct principles and a loving atmosphere. Howard’s mother faithfully prepared her family for eternal life. She taught her children to pray, took them to church and instilled in them a love for the gospel. As Howard’s testimony grew, like his mother, he too became a great example to all who knew him.

FHE Lesson – This is the Right Place

When Jesus was on the earth, He gave His 12 Disciples power, “to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease” (Matthew 10:1). This power is called the priesthood.

The priesthood is the eternal power and authority of God. It is the power to cure illness and lift burdens. It allows us to perform ordinances like baptism. One of the greatest blessings of the priesthood is that it makes it possible to go to the temple and be sealed together as a family forever.
