  1. “Thank You” Jar

All you need for this “sweet” idea is a cookie jar, wrapping paper, ribbon, and a bag of your wife or mother’s favorite bite-sized candies! Cut the wrapping paper into 5” x 5” squares. On the blank side of each one, write something about your mother that you’re thankful for. Then wrap a piece of paper around each piece of candy and tie it with a r

ibbon. Then fill up the jar!

  1. Power Movies for Mothers

Living Scriptures has more than just children-focused videos. Your mother figure might love dramas like Ephraim’s Rescue or The Cokeville Miracle. Is she a history buff? Get her Emma Smith: My Story. Or help her relax and laugh with a comedy like Baptists at Our Barbecue. Throw in some popcorn and give Mom a movie night at home!

  1. Miniature Garden

Most mothers love flowers, but bouquets only live for a few days. Instead, find a large garden pot in your mom’s favorite color and plant some flowers in it! Or buy a long, thin container to make a small herb garden for the kitchen windowsill. Those herbs will look pretty, smell good, and even taste delicious in your mother’s cooking.

  1. Car Makeover

Does your wife or mother spend a lot of time running errands or commuting? Take some time to prepare her car for her next journey. Top off the fluids, get a wash, vacuum out the inside, and fill up the gas tank. You could even include a stash of air fresheners or a pair of sunglasses to maximize Mom’s driving comfort.

  1. FHE Lessons for the Year

Mothers have a lot to worry about. Take something off of her to-do list by offering to plan Family Home Evening for the rest of the year. And don’t worry—Living Scriptures can help with that! Our website offers FHE lesson plans that also include song, activity, and treat ideas.

  1. Homemade Magnets

Small children will love creating magnets that Mom can display on the fridge! Buy some modeling clay and let the kids have fun with it! They’ll need your help to bake their creations in the oven and then attach magnets to the back with hot glue. Then voila—adorable decorations!

  1. Special Date

Is there a play your wife or mother figure has been dying to see or a trail she’s been hoping to hike? Surprise her by making all of the arrangements for a date she’ll love! Buy the tickets or equipment, make reservations at a restaurant, and find a babysitter ahead of time. Then watch your wife or mother jump with excitement!

  1. Scripture Study Kit

Finding time to study the scriptures as a mother is hard work. Why not make the rest of the process easier for your mother? Buy her a lap desk, some new highlighters, and a blank journal for a stellar study session! You can even print off our free eBook designed to help in studying some amazing scripture heroes!

  1. Fresh Family Pictures

How old are the photos on the mantel or your mom’s desk at work? Print some recent family photos and find some fun ways to display them. Buy some new picture frames, decorate some wooden ones, or even help your kids create a photo mobile for Mom to hang up!

Let’s face it: sometimes what mothers really want is time to relax. For just $10, you can get your family access to the entire Living Scriptures library for a whole month!
