A man named Cornelius was a centurion and not Jewish. But he always prayed to God. One day an angel told him that Peter would come and teach him what he should do. Peter also was praying, and had a vision that taught him that he shouldn’t call any man common or unclean, and that three men were looking for him. Soon Peter and Cornelius met and Peter taught him about Jesus Christ. The Apostles learned that God wants all His children to have the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ, repent, and be baptized.

Those who were angry with the Apostles for teaching about Christ persecuted them and hurt them. When Peter was cast into prison, all of the church prayed for him. Because of the faith and prayers of the church, an angel came to Peter and set him free. When we pray, Heavenly Father might not take away our problems, but He will help us through them. As we pray we should remember that Heavenly Father knows what is best for us.
