11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
The last half of the Book of Revelation describes Heavenly Father’s Plan. Before we came to Earth we lived in Heaven. There was a war in Heaven between those who followed Heavenly Father and His plan, and those who followed Satan. Heavenly Father’s plan would allow us to make our own choices (which means we would make mistakes), but it also provided us with a Savior so we could be forgiven and return back to Heavenly Father’s presence. Jesus would be our Savior.
Satan was overcome by Heavenly Father’s faithful children and cast out of Heaven. Because we chose to follow Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, we were given the opportunity to come to Earth. While we’re here on Earth, we continue to choose if we will follow Heavenly Father’s plan. Jesus taught us how we should live, and his atonement allows us to be forgiven if we repent and turn our hearts to Him.
One day Jesus will come again in power and glory. He will be King of Kings. If we are faithful, we can live with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and our families forever in the Celestial Kingdom.
“The purpose of God’s plan was to give His children the opportunity to choose eternal life. This could be accomplished only by experience in mortality and, after death, by postmortal growth in the spirit world.
God’s great plan of happiness provides a perfect balance between eternal justice and the mercy we can obtain through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It also enables us to be transformed into new creatures in Christ.”
